White Mountains
The Mount Washington Observatory
has been monitoring the elements from atop the northeast's highest peak since 1932. A non-profit, member-supported organization, the Observatory conducts weather observation, scientific research and programs of weather education. The "Obs" also operates the Weather Discovery Center in North Conway, a hands-on science museum and gift shop, and produces The Weather Notebook, a nationally syndicated radio program. www.mountwashington.org

American Independence Museum's
mission is to be the premier center and historic site in New Hampshire for the study, research, education and interpretation of the American Revolution and the role that one state, one town, and one family played in the founding of the new republic. Hear stories from two centuries of the families, merchants, soldiers, slaves, servants, shipbuilders, and political leaders, sea captains who settled on the property, chosen for its proximity to the tidal Squamscott River and the Atlantic Ocean.
